Admissions Criteria
We welcome all new families to our Gaelscoil.
You do not need to speak Irish to send your child to our school.
The Board of Governors of Gaelscoil na Spéiríní has determined that the following criteria shall be applied, in order set down below, in the event of the school being oversubscribed. Only children of compulsory school age will be admitted. In the application of each criterion, priority will be given to children regarded by the Board of Governors, on the basis of supporting evidence from parents/guardians and/or Statutory agencies, as having special circumstances, (i.e. medical, social, security) which would make it desirable that the applicant attend Gaelscoil na Speirini rather than another school.
Children of compulsory school age who have a brother/sister (half brother/half sister) already attending Gaelscoil na Spéiríní.
Children of compulsory school age who attended Naíscoil na Spéiríní.
Children of compulsory school age who have attended a Naíscoil.
Children of compulsory school age whose parent/guardian is a member of staff at Gaelscoil na Spéiríní.
Children of compulsory school age whose older brother/sister previously attended the school.
Children of compulsory school age whose parent/guardian is a prior pupil of Irish medium Education.
Children of compulsory school age residing in the Draperstown area.
Older children of compulsory school age on the basis of the order of their dates of birth.
